Adam D. Benowitz
Mr. Adam Benowitz is a lifelong entrepreneur with experience and success spread across a variety of industries and platforms. He has over twenty five years of experience as a Wall Street financier. He began his career as an options trader and spent over a decade in various senior trading and portfolio management roles ultimately cofounding his own hedge fund.
Mr. Benowitz, along with his childhood friend and Harvard Business School professor, Mr. Randolph Cohen, cofounded an investment adviser to private funds. Mr. Benowitz successfully directed the overall investment strategy in over 150 portfolio companies spanning many industries and across several continents.
Mr. Benowitz’s extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, next lead him to partner with companies in media and technology. This experience prompted Adam, to cofound Converge Media Group, a full-service management, production and branded entertainment company. Converge Media Group was successfully sold to Zealot Networks in 2015.
As a believer in the Impact Investing movement, which seeks to drive a measurable social impact with the expectation of a return on capital, Mr. Benowitz became a partner at Exsight Capital, a newly formed venture capital firm. Exsight Capital specializes in early-stage impact investments in innovative ophthalmic diagnostic and treatment solutions.
After launching VOX Capital, Adam, most recently became a founding Partner of Nordic Innovation Labs, a network security and technology consultancy.
Previously, Adam held the following positions: Head Trader for Rose Glen Capital and served in various senior trading and portfolio management roles at Apex Capital Management, Susquehanna Investment Group, The American Stock Exchange and Legg Mason Wood Walker.
Mr. Benowitz is also a highly sought-after speaker and has guest lectured at Harvard University, Yale University School of Management and New York University Stern School of Business.
Adam also works with several philanthropies including Math for America – a non-profit organization that aims to improve math education throughout U.S. public schools and the Foundation for Fighting Blindness.
Mr. Benowitz received his B.A.in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley.
